                      1863 Colt Pocket Revolver

The following item in an 1863 Colt .31 caliber pocket revolver. Numbered #240990, it is definitely from 1863. The gun itself is in beautiful condition and the action fires nicely. It is all original and has the #240990 stamped in five different locations on the gun. On the barrel the Colt stamp is very clear. The grips are original and in excellent condition. What is different about this gun is that someone bored out the barrel to .44 caliber. It looks as if they were going to do a complete conversion to the gun and never got the chance to finish. On top of the barrel is a small brass plug. Overall, the gun is in excellent condition with all working mechanics. Along with the gun comes a nice Civil War Period .31 caliber bullet mold made completely of brass. The two come as a set in a very nice wooden locking glass case for display. This gun was purchased from a very reputable Civil War arms dealer. My asking price for this set is $850.00. Due to paypal regulations, this set can only be purchased by check or money order. If interested, please e-mail me at gregmueller@unionarsenal.com. Catalog item #UA-339.

                                             1863 Colt Army Revolver

The following item is a model 1860 Colt Army Revolver with it's original holster. The beautiful old Colt is numbered #125207 (all numbers match) which is an 1863 production number. This three screw model was heavily used in the war and has some pitting and pock marks on the barrel. The loading lever is a modern replacement as are a couple screws. The wood grips are original and in fine condition. The mechanics are worn but it does cock back and hold in a half position and fires. The gun has a pleasing gray patina and displays beautifully as seen in this picture. The revolver also comes with it's original holster which is quite rare to find. After doing some research, it was found that this gun was most likely issued to the 13th NY Volunteer Cavalry. The two initials on the holster are T.H. and there were four soldiers in the 13th NY with these initials. Also the fact that the gun has the lanyard cutouts points to it being cavalry used. The belt strap on the back of the holster is worn away and the holster has an old repair where it was re-sown which appears to be a very old repair. The gun fits the holster perfectly and they both look great in the glass display case. Also included is a Civil War Period powder flask for a handgun. It is not original to the colt but makes a fine addition to the set. The 13th NY Volunteer Cavalry was positioned around the Washington D.C. area to protect the Capitol. They were engaged with Confederate Cavalry on many occasions. This is a great opportunity to own a beautiful old colt along with it's original holster. They are sold only as a set and come displayed in this wood and glass lockable display case. Comes with letter of authenticity from previous owner. Catalog item #UA-301.

The asking price for this set is $1400.00. Due to Paypal regulations the set cannot be purchased through Paypal. If interested, please contact us at gregmueller@unionarsenal.com and we can arrange payment either by check or money order.
